Baby Plan Moment

1 davisFB

These sleeping and almost sleeping beauties were so much fun yesterday to work with. Big sister Harley has her hands full helping at home. This was their first session of our Baby Growing Plan. Of course when little miss woke up little brother took a nap. Getting twins on the same page at this age is a throw of the dice.

I enjoyed working with this couple over the  past weekend as they took the time to model for me during a program I presented for the Professional Photographers of North Carolina in Brown Summit NC. Nothing I like better then talking photography with many of my friends.

We had a great number attend during the program on Monday.

Cold Bridesmaid

It was a cold day for a wedding but the hearts on this special day were very warm. I often don’t do wedding unless I have a chance to meet with the bride or the bride and groom before the wedding. It is important to build trust and a friendship before the wedding day so you can work together easily. This was the first wedding in a long time that I did not meet either of them.

The day worked so well and we hit is off right away. Such a fun  beautiful couple and family. Connecting with the family is so very important when you are trying to capture each and every detail you can. They have to understand what your direction is and give you the time to do exactly what needs to be done. This was a big group to get to know fast and everything worked so well.

The bride wanted some portrait images before the wedding outside and being as cold as is was we had to work fast . Whenever I have a late Winter wedding my concern is having time to capture beautiful images with as much natural light as I can. This was a tight cold window of time to get these images and she didn’t complain at all.The girls did well to run outside fast for a quick cold group pose.

The evening ended around 11:15pm. I asked the band at 10:pm how long were they going to play this evening and the reply was ” we don’t have a time”. I knew it was going to be a long night. Starting that day heading to Kinston at 12:30pm and arriving home in Tarboro at 1:am makes for a long day. Sunday we were on the road for a photography program in the Greensboro area by 9:am the next morning. I went to sleep by Tuesday.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the images. Please take a moment to like our page so I will be able to show your more special moments in the future.

State Fair Portrait

We had a great time last evening in the cold windy NC State Fair. I did get much colder then we all thought so we had to select a spot to shoot, drop the coats and quickly get in a few shots, then find the next location. I think I burned the kids out they were ready to go as soon as the light got just right. We did mange to get some really nice looks. Thank you to my long time photographer friend Cindy Smith for taking care of the lighting so we were able to work around the crowds much quicker and Amy was there to help to make sure everything was in place since we were working so quickly. Having an extra set of eyes is helpful when doing family portraits. It was like working on a lunch hour with all the food I did eat. Nothing like eating and working at the fair.

What a beautiful evening in Wilson I had yesterday with Gardner Kirkland and Daniel Orr. They made it so easy. The wedding party was so nice to work with a wonderful group and exciting to be a part of this very special day. They were fun to be around.

The reception was an interesting location that has never been used before in Wilson. It was a warehouse that is used to store the Whirligigs in Wilson. I stopped by the reception location on the Monday before the weekend to check it out. I often like to get a feel for where I am going to work. This place was nasty! Just a big open warehouse but they transformed it into a first class reception location. All praise goes out the team that pulled it together. Wonderful!

The Lollypop Gang

Once you give them the surprise lollypop the session is just about over. We did get some fun image while Amy and I were having fun playing on the floor them. It was a beautiful weekend having all the grandkids under one roof this past Labor Day weekend.

Hoboken/Hobuken

Hobuken

Is it a typo?

Here I am in Hobuken NC. That sounds strange coming from a New jersey boy from Hoboken. I have always wanted to see the flip side of this coin. Amy and I were on a Sunday road trip and we ventured into no mans land. I am standing in the town square of Hobuken NC. No Maxwell’s Bar, Biggies Hot Dogs, Carlos’s Bakery or Mozzarella cheese to be found.
